The phone vibrated, "Where are you? We have started." Hazel texted me about 7:45AM. I rushed to the bathroom and found myself dressed in 20 minutes. I was lucky a neighbor just pulled over and asked where I was going. "I'm bound for school.", I said. "Hop in.", he said. I wasn't scheduled to serve today. Since they lack one more examiner, they texted me considering I live close to the school.
In another 10 minutes I was in front of 30 and boys (about 12-13 years old). When I came in the room, everybody was staring at me. I can read their minds, some excited, some fearful, some just taking it as if it's part of the events of the day and has to really happen. "Good morning everybody." "Good morning Ma'am." "How are you today?" I heard murmurs. "Welcome to Talamban National High School." "Today you are going to take a classifying exam so that we will know who among you will attend the Science Class and who will attend the Regular Class." Everybody was still and silent, this is the time when I can hear the "sound of silence" and I began to wonder why in a matter of days, students begin to show their true colors, noisy, restless and sometimes mischievous. Ahhh, familiarity, they begin to feel comfortable with each other so they now tend to act who they are.
Teaching, the noblest profession I've ever known. Jesus was himself a teacher. I sure would miss this job if I'd choose to become a goatkeeper.

Great Mothers
At 3:00 AM my cellphone vibrated for a text message. I thought it was a call from a friend who used to give me surprise calls early in the morning but it was a text message from GangGang, my 14 year old , greeting me a Happy Mother's Day. It's just very touching to be always thought of especially on a day like this. When she got up in the morning she hugged me and said "Happy Mother's Day, Ma."
Then some coteachers sent greetings, too bad I don't have a load and I can't greet them back.
Anyways, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world with special mention to the following great mothers:
Belen L. Bañados Gemma L. Lapatha Celia V. Lapatha Emma O. Gelig Hazel B. Ornopia Vilma C. Lavisores Leny D. Pantinople Rofela B. Villaroya Celia G. Dandan Victoria C. Japitana Marivic C. Ople Estela Contridas Nena S. Estenzo Alice C. Bordadora Engr. Zenaida Grapa Concepcion Ybanez Gemma A. Bendebel Ludy Ingles Perlita Temblon Delia S. Palacio Almira Pasay Melinda L. Amante and all the Talamban High School Teachers who are mothers.

MAKING IMPROVEMENTS
“Grandpa, did God make you?”
“Yes.”
“Did he make me?”
“Yes.”
“I guess He’s doing better work now.”
