promised to myself someday id take the time and try to make sense
out of all those opportunities ive lost while trying to sit on the fence
but right now ive got no time for yesterday
yesterdays four thousand miles away
estimated time of arrival is 9.30am
been up before the sun and now im tired before i even begin
ive got so much love in front of me
it stretches out as far as the eye can see
i can see
working all your life aint all thats its cracked up to be
it can be as lonely at the top as at the bottom of that coroprate tree
spent half my life in airports doing crosswords or attempting to sleep
and when the bar is open you will often find me warming a seat
and now ive found a place where i can stay
its four thousand miles away

You have no idea the void you have left in my life,the 1000s of unanswered questions,the 1000s of stories we should have shared.where were you when i came of the field bloody and muddy,man of the match under13s football grand final?? all my team mates had their dads there,,NOT ME,,you made me look a mummies boy only my mum there to hug me,where was my father son handshake/slap on the back..you missed so such ,to see all my achievements and share in my sorrow in my failures....where were you when i needed the father son guidance talk or kick in the ass and tell me to pull my head in,,people from different circles have phoned me to tell me of your death,i dont know how to react to their >>are you sad question,,of course im sad your dead ,,but im more sad we have so much unfinished business,,growing up my mum always told me geez you remind me of your father,,it took a few years for me to figure out it wasnt said in a good way,,our lives have had so many similarities,,one thing for sure is it might be your blood running through me its my mums heart that pumps it,,its been a turbulent year for me and once again you werent there for me ,,everything has turned around around lately and life feels really good,new job ,,new friends,my girl is school age ,,most importantly after all these years i need you here to crack a few beers chill and chat............WHATS that son your in love ? good for you,,,,,,,,,,,You know i dont believe in god so i know we wont ever meet again ,,ha "funny thought">>and if i did believe im sure you would be looking up at me not down,,kidding..i would really love to hate you at the moment but my life is full of love and joy at the moment so i cant,,anyhows as i press enter i will pour a rum and hope if there is an afterlife you are doing ok,,if my mum is right about me being like you im sure St Peter will be a gimme,,,,,,,,,,,,PS to anybody body thats reads this blog go tell your loved ones you love them.dont let pride or hectic lifestyle stop you from the things that really matter...............................RIP MY DAD 30/11/2011
