 A huge magnitude-8.8 earthquake struck Chile early yesterday, killing at least 122 people, knocking down homes and hospitals, and triggering a tsunami that rolled menacingly across the Pacific. Buildings caught fire, major highway bridges collapsed and wide cracks opened up in streets. A 15-storey building collapsed in the city of Concepcion, near the epicenter, and overturned cars lay scattered below a fallen overpass in the capital. |

 It is a holiday in Kuwait and therefore most of families try to take advantage of this and visit each other. Some, however, prefer to stay at home and celebrate the special occasion of National Day in Kuwait with their family members. However, maximum crowds can be seen thronging the roads of Kuwait City with flags in their hands. Places like the Messila Beach, Al-Sha'ab Leisure Park and Green Island become crowded with people - both kids and elders alike. Public meetings and get-togethers are organized in

Kuwait is turning red, white, green and black for National and Liberation Days, with families, children, teens and even buildings bedecked in the colors of the Kuwaiti flag in time for the annual two days of celebrations. Some people are taking advantage of this vacation to plan a big celebration, with most Kuwaitis having five days off from their work and school.
