 Present is the reality. There is no assurance that you will be given a chance to see the "future". If you do good today things will be better ahead. Lastly, the reason why today is called present because it's a GIFT at hand.

Better do good in the present rather than thinking of what lies ahead. I am not certain what you mean with "thinking ahead" however, i am certain that if you know that the term "future" hols no assurance at all then you got a very good common sense.
