jolielaide is a french word (not in common dictionary) meaning a beautiful ugly woman or oddly attractive lady.(literally: pretty (attractive) ugly woman) unconventionally good-looking woman: a woman whose facial features are not pretty in conventional terms, but nevertheless have a distinctive harmony or charm. in short: a pretty ugly concept  It is a perfectly good phrase despite the fact the French don't use it. They don't have cul-de-sacs either. i prefer to call it "off-key beauty" ~ Jolielaide
