a true friend

TRUE FRIENDSHIP
I have been a bit glum these last few days. Wondering why allot of things where done by another party. Wondering why I am so sad.
I am a man I should be over this already!! Be strong you have the will to move on, I have told myself. I have walked around being busy when not working helping with our students here at home. But alas the feelings welling up inside just seem to not go away.
Till I got bored and began reading a book “what I didn’t learn at school” by Jamie Macintyre. An Australian multi millionaire at the age of 28. He puts it so simply. To have the gratitude that is the difference between poor people and rich. To have the gratitude of the fact that you are alive, of the fact that you live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. To be proud that you can give something to someone today, be it just a smile or just a help up the step, or just a short conversation with a stranger.
Tonight I have had an excellent night I went for a walk I didn’t know why I had to but I had to go. On my walk I felt like a beer and upon sitting I was asked if I would like the special. A pint of TED (Tooheys Extra Dry) just $4. I finished that and still had to go. I reached the beach. A quiet night being Thurs. Late night shopping her in Aust. There were not many about which was good for the mood I was in. I jumped to the ringing vibration in my pocket, mum, where are you she questions. Just at the Mosley square I reply then the call drops out. So I start back on the 45 min walk. Passing the same place I stopped in again for another TED.
I saw a lady that has been here in this part of the city since I was 12 years old. “the bag lady” was what she was called I had never spoken to her in the 25 years I have watched her come into the local and sit and have a portergaff in the winter or coffee in the summer. But tonight I said hello, and she recognised me. Even though I have been away from the area for 3 ½ years. We talked about the old bar and my trade and her life training horses in the converted bar we were sitting in which used to be stables. Eventually we talked about and relationships. Not having the best of times of late with this subject I turned silent. Sitting there I get another vibration, text this time, from a friend and this friend has the most perfect timing and the gift to send the right words at the right time.

Thankyou sis for that (I dare not call her ate! Joking he he).and here is my response for cheering me up so much with your mess. Wow this is one of the longest posts I have made!!

Your best friend
Is someone that you spend your time with
But you don’t get the best advice from.
The wisest things
Don’t come from the best advisers.
But a true friend can be trusted,
Listened to, and is
Worth spending the most time with.

THANK YOU
My True Friend
