It Was The Night Before New Year

I remember today, 6 years ago, it was Dec. 2001, I was with my late husband at Chong Hua Hospital. The atmosphere outside was bubbly and people were joyous waiting for the new year. I was with Jun who was on his 11th day at the hospital because of his chronic renal failure. At about 11PM, firecrackers started, considering the hospital is near the Fuente Osmena Plaza, people gathered there and waited for the New Year. That was Jun's last experience of meeting the New Year.

On the following day, New Year's day, January 01, 2002 at exactly 11:45AM, the doctor pronounced him dead. After 4 long years of going through the sickness, going through dialysis, doctor check up, medication and all the other agony, he rest in peace.
