Holiday Frenzy vs Bucket list

The government suddenly announced yesterday that September 10 is a non-working holiday, which translates into a 3-day weekend for me. Darn it, I haven't made any plans for that weekend! Im feeling the pressure to put together a travel plan and get a much-needed break. I already missed taking advantage of the last 3-day weekend 'cause I had to work, I don't want to miss this one again It's too late now to avail of travel promos, which you usually have to book months in advance, so the cost will be pretty high for a long-distance trip. So that limits my options to locations I can reach by land. No worries there, though, there are a lot of destinations near Manila that I haven't seen yet. Next problem - travel buddy. As usual, my friends are taking a long time to decide about where to go. So I have to have a back-up plan - going alone, which I'm used to doing to overseas trips, but would rather not to for domestic trips simply because it's really more fun to travel in a group. But if it really comes down to it, I would rather go alone than not go at all and be stuck at home again on a precious long weekend. So I went back to my bucket list and checked out the items I listed that I haven't done yet and had no plans of doing this year, but I could maybe do because of this unexpected holiday : * learn a new language - i dont think i can finish this in three days, but we'll see... * get a bike - i can do this anytime, doesnt merit a holiday * learn how to drive - hmmmm.... maybe not now, roads are too slippery * rock climbing- not good to do during the rainy season * pottery - maybe! * rapelling - if i can find an indoor venue, maybe i can try this * have my future read by a fortune teller - im scared to do this... a couple of acquaintances my age died this year and I keep getting this feeling i may have the same fate, but I dont want that confirmed * do a random road trip - another maybe! hmmmm Oh well, i have a week to decide what to do... wish me luck!
