My Successful 2007 I want to write, but I can't. Hmmm, uhh, I am writing! lol. I got a mail from one of my most respected friends, Don. His writing is mostly about the places he's been to all over the world - of the snows of Kilimanjaro, of conquering Mt. Everest, of the tombs at Edinburgh. You get the idea. He recently lost his father and wanted to write a tribute to him. So he sent me a note telling me that although he wrote a lot, he had never written anything as personal as the tribute, which I think is worth publishing, and that I was one of his inspirations that compelled him to open up. That felt good, especially coming from someone like him. So I referred him to FFF, and told him about the nice people around, and that his writing style would surely gain him avid followers from the site. ---- Last night, we had our company Christmas party. We gave out our first set of awards - Chairman's Award (employee of the month), President's Award (for leadership), Magister Award (teacher of the year), and METC Rookie of the Year. We also came up with a set of Non-serious but serious awards like Crush-ng-Bayan, Red-Carpet, Bubble-Gang, and Justice League Awards. Although I was not the head of the Awards Committee, I ran it and made sure everyone was consulted, that I came up with the right titles, and that everyone submitted nominations. The democratic way is such hard work as opposed to my boss's almost authoritarian style. Printing out the certificates for the Non-Serious Awards, I felt bad that two of who I thought were most deserving were not recognized. So I talked to my boss, and told her that I wanted to give MY award - I-Will-Survive Award - to somebody else, and that I wanted to add another name to the Justice League (best team) Award. She agreed. Besides, if I wanted a certificate, I could always come up with mine. lol. Awards night came. It was part of the program during the Christmas Party. I am positive everybody felt tensed, as due recognition has been an issue within the company so I took the Non-Serious Awards seriously. I guess, I was the most relaxed then. It was gratifying to see the people's faces as their names were called, and the non-verbals they showed over the simple joy of being recognized for their hard work. That is one certificate in two years! Biggest Boss announced he and second Boss were exempted from the major awards. Right after consultation with us, the A-team unanimously decided that Biggest Boss should get the first Chairman's Award, which surprised him during the night. I got the President's Award for leadership. I must admit, I did not expect it and felt my sorrows since I accepted my post being washed away. In fact, I felt rejuvenated I feel I will be a better leader after that night. I deeply appreciate my company for giving me the opportunity to lead my group. ---- This year's Christmas party was a success. The theme "You've Got the Look A-like" was a hit. Everybody put an effort to dress up as a celebrity or a character. Big Boss came as Julius Caesar with his empress. I came as Morticia Addams with my family. Too bad we couldn't come up with Uncle Fester. Bigger Boss was Best in Make-up to everyone's standard as Wednesday. The gayest employee, who came as Wolverine, won as Best Costume for male. A very slim teacher won the Best in Costume for female as the fat Conchita in Marimar. And oh, Karen was uber hotness in her Beyonce outfit. You wouldn't think she was a conservative teacher! Britney Spears (after birth) entertained us with a dance number. Charlie's Angels will always be hot. Snow White and her dwarfs in trolley brought color to the night. Ms. Puerto Rico graced us, too, with her queenly presence. And so on... ---- Insights: A true leader strives to be one by recognizing his or her strengths and acknowledging weaknesses. Ability to lead is defined by the extent of how his or her subordinates follow. Recognition in the simplest way could be the highest form of compliment. Surprises are classics with a twist - as in Trip to Jerusalem the Oral Com way. My writing touches even the best writers. I'm so touched. 13th month salary in the Philippines is for the sole purpose of gift giving during Christmas season. ----- Random thoughts: Kakaadik ang ChocNut! Ang galing ng naka-imbento ng digicam. Kaya ko kaya tumigil magyosi? Makapag-jogging pa kaya ako uli? I miss my sweethart so much.

Ako rin naadik sa chocnut na binili ni nanay. Mura lang rin. Kailanggan ko pa bibili ng digicam kaya magipon muna ako.  Sana kaya mo hihinto magyosi kasi alam ko mahirap talaga pero kahit naman na maiwasan at bawasan mo manigariylo. Ok na. Sayang sasabay sana ako magjogging sa iyo. Mas gusto ko pa na tuloy tuloy maglaro ng badminton para gagaling ako maglaro at makatakbo rin. Sige sana tutuloy kang mamahalin balik. Ingatzzz within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Sana kaya mo hihinto magyosi kasi alam ko mahirap talaga pero kahit naman na maiwasan at bawasan mo manigariylo. Ok na. Sayang sasabay sana ako magjogging sa iyo. Mas gusto ko pa na tuloy tuloy maglaro ng badminton para gagaling ako maglaro at makatakbo rin. Sige sana tutuloy kang mamahalin balik. Ingatzzz Masarap talaga ang chocnut. At mataas sa calories. Eto nga, tumataba na ako sa chocnut. Dito ka bumili ng digicam sa Manila. Mura lang dito. Maganda ang quality. Target ko, ngayong January hindi na ako magyoyosi. Ngayon nga mga tatlong sticks na lang in one day. Na-sprain kasi ang paa ko. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin magaling. Kahit konting lakad lang sumasakit. Hehe...practice ka pa mag-tagalog ha. Gumagaling ka na. Yey!

Manalangin na lang na gagaling na yong paa mo. Yong kaibigan ko lalong nagkasakit mula nong Pasko hanggang ngayon rin. Lalong nabibinat at nilalagnat. Sana gagaling na kayo. within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Ambait mo naman, Sis Jane. Sana nga kc namimiss ko na magsuot ng mataas na sapatos (ano ba ang high heels sa tagalog? hehe) 'pag pumapasok sa trabaho. huhu...Sana gumaling na rin ang kaibigan mo para masaya na uli ang lahat.
