Love, Mommy

It was not our place,
But somehow it was -
Daddy's dark little room.
It was our first time there,
and I was scared to hear
what granny would say.
It felt good to be together,
To be alone with daddy
Where nobody would care,
And nobody would mind
If daddy held you tight
And threw you in the air.
It was a lovely picture,
How you made him smile
Simply because you smiled at him.

If I could hold that picture,
And keep it for you,
I would hold it with my life
So I can show it to you
So that someday,
When you grow up
To be a daddy yourself,
I hope I would be the most proud.
