what is a motel???

a silly email from my best friend today reminded me of a silly thing we did (some 20 months ago) while i was still in manila.

are u ready for it???

mama litz, as i fondly call my best friend, showed up at our apartment in cubao late one night. carrying a small traveling bag, i knew right away there was something wrong. she had a fight with her sister and needed a place to stay! knowing i could not accommodate her coz the room i was sharing with my sister was small and had no extra bed plus i had 2 nieces with us that time (while the other room was being occupied by my two officemates-boarders), i suddenly panicked. it was late and i didn't have the heart to send her away. after a quick "brainstorming" with her, we decided to combine our money together and talked about spending the night in a decent hotel close by. but gosh, our money wasn't enough for a hotel room! after another quick "brainstorming," we decided to just go to the newly built motel along edsa which is just a block away from the apartment. it was both our first time...it was quite "wa class" but we had no choice. it would only be for a few hours, anyway!

ok, to make the story a little shorter, we got a room for a little less than P600.00 and we both ordered chicken mami that tasted like shit. and here's the silly part. when we're already settled and mama litz (a little teary eyed) started to share her story with me, we were interrupted by a moan/scream of someone from the other room to the left and obviously a headboard banging against the wall from the room to the right. our eyes rolled and we both laughed quietly! we tried to stay "sane and calm" but we would be startled by something hitting our room walls. oh my, how could we get some sleep? we both have to go to work the next day! the "war" around us went on and on for hours and we found ourselves still wide awake when it's time for us to check out at 6am the next morning.

the moral of the story? a night in the motel will give you eye bags!!!

 You should have brought some earplugs with you guys 8-| @-)

or have transfered to another room.

 sounds like fun... i'll tell my girlfriends we'll be having our next sleep over in a motel... hehehe

yeah, it's more fun and exciting if you're a group. i just don't know if they allow a "group check-in"... hehehe. anyways, thanks for dropping by, iviang. have fun with your friends!

yeah, it should have been smarter if we brought some earplugs. but you know, we didn't see those moaning, screaming and banging coming...hehehe.
