life in the US (2)

i went to fred meyer right after work yesterday to have my watch fixed. when the repair guy told me it'll take him 10-15 mins to fix it (it was just actually the strap that needed to be adjusted), i decided to window shop for a while.

as i walked and looked around, i had this very good feeling when i saw this red and white "clearance sale" banner that brightly hang in one of the store's corners. believing i would be lucky enough to find something for me, i excitedly screamed "it's shopping time!"

anyway, when i got closer to the corner, i realized the items on sale were not blouses or slacks but mostly undergarments. they were 80%-90% off. though i still have new/unused pieces of them at home which i brought from the philippines, i thought it was a good deal to buy a few, or at least, a piece. so, i started to check out the bras one by one, brand by brand, shelf by shelf. it was not easy but i was optimistic i could find one that fits me. a few mins later, an american lady customer approached me. "sweetie, i'm afraid this section is not for you," she said in a casual tone yet sincere enough not to embarrass me. she had this shy smile when i looked at her. she's almost 3 times my size. "i guess you know what i meant," she continued as she was unfolding a bra which one cup alone is enough to hold my whole smiley face.

as if it was the ultimate sign for me to give up, i smiled back at her, said my thanks and slowly walked away.

    Quoting  :

actually, they were not just for plus sizes women. unfortunately, they're still too big for an average asian.
i guess management should also put a banner that says "asian women, keep out!" he he he

i always go to the junior department like you do. the problem is most of their style are very much for the younger generation and do not suit my age....lol. but since i have no choice, i always end up buying some of them... and i'm glad i'm small that it's not too obvious na nagmumurang kamatis...lol!

thanks for dropping by. take care, irene.

Thanks for the laughs ladies. I can sorta relate, my ex-wife was very petite. She could only buy her shoes in the little girls section. When she left me and the divorce was pending - All she asked for was family pictures and her shoes! Seriously. Dave

Thank You For Your Time and Consideration ! Be Safe !! and, God Bless You and Yours !!! DAVE

Hebrews 10;24-25: And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one anothe: and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.
