one of the best medicines...

i suddenly thought of sharing these tidbits i read from the bulletin board of a hospital while i was waiting for my doctor yesterday morning. there were a number of them but these are the only ones i got to retrieve from my memory. these items, which i now call "the relaxing pieces" (though there were really no special in them coz we always read things like these everyday) are written in bold letters enough for a person six feet away to read them. here goes:

FACTS:
- most parrots are left handed.

- the statue of liberty weighs as much as 111,000 tacos.

- when we are on a 3 week vacation, our I.Q level is 20% lower than it normally is when we're at work.

- actor danny de vito once trained to be a hairdresser.

- if you can count 100 stars in a minute, it will take you 2000 years to count the whole galaxy.

- a person can only use 60,000 words in a lifetime.

HUMOR:
- a class reunion is an affair where former classmates compare mates

- if at first you failed, try it your wife's way!

- alcohol does not cause hang-over. waking up does.

- smokers are the most stupid person in the world coz they burn their money.

- scratch a and you'll find a permanent job.

it's fun to have read these stuff when you're waiting for someone and left with no other things to do or when you're sick and feel so bad and all you want to see/read are some good stuff to temporarily forget the hell you are in. but why in the hospital?

it didn't take me any longer to find the answer. as i looked around, i saw the relaxed and calm faces of all the other patients who just read the "relaxing pieces" and were sharing thoughts/ideas with each other. They were the same people who, just a few minutes ago walked in sad and sick.

truly, the "relaxing pieces" did serve the purpose.

we actually utter more than 60,000 words per lifetime but we only use a total of 60,000 different words coz there are words that we use over and over and over again.

nice to see u again, teng. how's everything going? i'm doing great...just busy! thanks...

I like such readings. It helps to pass the time like the hospital. Can amuse you or make you think.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.
