Sure why not metro. Save it esp. when it comes handy for something. Very glad to share. I'd to make changes though because I did it in a hurry with strained eyes.

This is a note for myself too.

Can't imagine you spelling cemetery much though.

As a bonus, you can sing along to the songs.

Funny you noticed kuya Bok.

Eh 'G-W-A-P-A' is easier to spell. A catchy short word.

With regards to 'mon' brain apparently women have smaller brains.

But recent research argues that despite the small brain, there is no big difference in the mental performance between the genders. Women have 15% more brain cell activity in certain areas in the frontal lobe, which controls the supposed higher mental processes. Unfortunately, women supposedly shed these brain cells more rapidly than men and more likely to develop some psychiatric conditions.

An exam pour moi-même.

hahaha aren't you lucky Madam Elza you will not have to sit this exam. Rest assured.

Ma'am?? I find it peculiar when my friend who's the same age as me, is referred to as ma'am. It sounds ageing and oh so polite. [curtseying at the same time]

I'd go easy on and . I don't keep picking on someone's mistakes in general. Only if it's severely wrong. I'd pick on my mistakes first. hehehehe

If it annoys you, then say politely the correct spelling or grammar.

Besides you've to consider the following:

The person may have learning and mental difficulties such as dyslexia- is a combination of abilities and difficulties; the difficulties affect the learning process in aspects of literacy and sometimes numeracy. Getting through required reading is generally seen as the biggest challenge at higher education level due in part to inability to skim and scan written material. Marked and persistent weaknesses may be identified in short-term and working memory, speed of processing, sequencing skills, auditory and /or visual perception, spoken language and motor skills.

Abilities can include good visuo-spatial skills, creative thinking and intuitive understanding; enabling technology is usually found to be very beneficial.

Dyspraxia are affected by an impairment or immaturity of the organisation of movement, often appearing clumsy. Gross and fine motor skills (related to balance and co-ordination) and fine motor skills (relating to manipulation of objects) are hard to learn and difficult to retain and generalise. Writing is particularly laborious and keyboard skills difficult to acquire. Pronunciation may also be affected and people with dyspraxia may be over/under sensitive to noise, light and touch. They may have poor awareness of body position and misread social cues in addition to those shared characteristics common to many SpLDs.

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) exists with or without hyperactivity. In most cases people with this disorder are often off task, have particular difficulty commencing and switching tasks together with a very short attention span and high levels of distractibility. They may fail to make effective use of the feedback they receive and have weak listening skills. Those with hyperactivity may act impulsively and erratically, have difficulty foreseeing outcomes, fail to plan ahead and be noticeably restless and fidgety. Those without the hyperactive trait tend to daydream excessively, lose track of what they are doing and fail to engage in their studies unless they are highly motivated. The behaviour of people with AD(H)D can be inappropriate and unpredictable; this, together with the characteristics common to many SpLDs can present a further barrier to learning.

I've a mild dyscalculia.

We've to accept that not everybody is academically smart, there are those who have other talents and fare better in practical skills.

Thanks a lot for your question Ms. Parotski hehehe.

It's interesting to know that American university graduates are accused of not understanding grammar and spellings. It could well be true because the big companies, formal institutions and the older generation in the U.K complain about a similar problem. One of the obvious thing you'd notice about the English classes in an English speaking country is that they often take their first language for granted. The actual English classes don't teach the language in depth unless the student studies English in university. It's too long to explain what I mean but this is the gist of it.

There are two main school of thoughts which would help to address this question further. Linguistics is descriptive, not prescriptive. However, prescriptivism prefers one variety of language to the others. It prescribes rules of that is correct. To prescriptivists, the duty of grammarians, schoolmasters and dictionary makers is to maintain some absolute standard of correctness. Any deviations from the rules are said to be incorrect or nonstandard. So, the prescriptive approach relies heavily on rules of grammar.

On the contrary, descriptivism claims that the linguist's first task is to describe the way people actually speak and write their language, not to prescribe how they ought to speak and write. Linguistics describes data observed. Linguists are interested in what is said, not what they think ought to be said. They are observers and recorders, not judges.

As we know, with the passage of time, all languages are subject to change. All living languages are there to serve the different social needs of the communities that use them. As these needs change, languages will tend to change to meet the new situations.

Basically, when blogging or chatting (the situation or context is informal), so we shouldn't worry too much about spelling and grammar. The important thing is that the receiver and the communicator understand each other. We should be more careful with our spelling and grammar when writing formal letters, essays, thesis and formal speech.

I like to tackle the theatre of the absurd.

A brilliant suggestion Ate Diane. Thanks very much for this. You're right.

Best wishes and hope you're well.

This just makes my list even "shorter" [in sarcastic tone].

From world wide words-

Learning the difference between stationary (not moving) and stationery (letterhead, envelopes, etc.) and even figured out a mnemonic device – the e is for envelope. The significance is that both words come from the same source, the Latin 'stationarius', for a person who was based at a military station.

Stationery, as a general noun term for the things sold, appeared in the eighteenth century. There was much confusion about spelling in the early days, since stationary as an adjective for things that don’t move about had been in the language for about a hundred years. But by the middle of the century a clear distinction had appeared, based on the logic that what a stationer sold had to be stuff called stationery.

A word I misspell.

Advice is a noun, which means an opinion that someone offers you about what you should do or how you should act in a particular situation.

"I need someone to give me some advice."

Advise is a verb, which means to give information and suggest types of action.

"I advise everybody to be nice to their teacher."
