Howdy? catch him if you can

This is a joke from the joke book I was bought for Christmas. Bessie and her hubby bought it for a laugh and something to add to my parcel. Little do they know, I thought about buying it for myself.

The president of the world's most successful international business, accompanied by his wife, stop for petrol at a small out-of-way garage. As the garage attendant come out to help them, the wife looks up and screams with pleasure.

"John, oh, no! I can't believe it!" She jumps out of the car and rushes to embrace him. Then after a few minutes of animated conversation, she returns to the car looking very thoughtful.

As they drive off, the husband looks at her with interest and asks, "Who was that sweetheart?"

"That was an old boyfriend of mine. We were together a long time. In fact, we almost got married."

There is a moment's silence and then he says "Ah, well, I guess you're glad you married me instead."

"What makes you say that?"

"Because I'm the president of an international company."

"That's quite irrelevant." she replies with scorn. "If I'd married John, he'd be president by now."

From this photo it gives us an idea that during leap years, women wore red petticoats to warn men that she's on the prowl. Ready to catch him out off guard....
Happy Valentine's day to y'all in advance!!!
Miss you guys. Welcome back to the old timers.

Thanks for popping in including the quiet and faithful visitors and passers-by. Thanks for your offline message.

Sorry for my usual delayed response. I'm simply recovering from on and off colds/sickness. Taking time to adjust to new situations past and present. Have to sort out some lessons in life and school. Have to plan holidays. Will make more sense in time when everything is confirmed and booked. I’ll get in touch with friends interested in meeting up. I just have to ask for permission when I'm there and somehow excuse myself if possible for a brief time from family plans and maglakwatsa for a little while or as they say here where I live, busy gallivanting, in my case, this involves getting lost. Hence why the need for chaperones.

Janey,

So glad you're back. Were you sick because of the petticoat? Should be worn with boots or high shoes, what did you have to go with it?

Keep getting better and no relapse okies? Ingatz...

Advance Happy Valentines day!!

Thanks very much Pam for your maiden visit. God bless you too.

It's just unfortunate that illness is passed on so easily around the school. The nursery teachers also got very sick as well.

ehehehehe Aloofa. Good to see you blogging again and comfortable in your skin.

I'd love to see you wear shades of red matching and call you Scarlet O'Hara. Red symbolizing passion. I've noticed you like black too.

Um, do I really needed to wear a red petticoat?

Thanks for the welcome back sis Alice. Happy Valentines to you and your crushes and suitors.

You don't have to wear a red petticoat, but it would look extra hot and sexy. The men are bound to agree.

Really Miss Elz? I could do with borrowing one and wear it for my Valentine date. Lol
But then I could also wear my lace red dress instead of a petticoat only.

Hey Sulei thanks.

Do you celebrate Valentines where you are? Anyone in mind for your date? Maybe even a friendly chat.

Are you missing Miss Bebong too? I bet you do. Maybe you can write a poem for Valentines dedicated to her. She'd love that. I miss those racey lines of hers. She used to write kinda erotic lines, but funny at the same time because it's just a play on words. Yet she doesn't mean it dead seriously, more intensely passionate about her dream of being swept away by the likes of Eric Bana.

Oh... I'm very sorry to read what has happened. Didn't expect you two to drift apart so far. Thought you'd work out your differences, but it's more than that I guess. I thought before you announced anything that something was up, which I hoped wasn't true TaJane. My sympathy, but it's better to know the truth when lies could hurt you more.

As far as I'm aware I'll be away at the end of June to July thanks to mom. My advanced birthday present. My family are staying for longer through to early August and I'm leaving earlier to get back to work.

Oh yes a red petticoat would be nice. It would flatter any woman.

I'll give you one of the I heart tees from here.

Ah Jane, long time since I've seen you post ( although the same could be said for myself...) You seem to have ran afoul of the sicknesses that plague people during winter, hopefully it is at the tail end and subsiding already.

Good on you for planning your holidays now, and hopefully it won't take you long to finalize all your plans. You could probably use the break and see new environs...plus it would be a bonus to see friends from other places as well. Don't forget to take pics.

Oh, have fun with your early V-day date with your hubby, seafood is a magnificent choice( unless you are allergic, of course ).
Long time no see Enrique. We're waiting on your post. I've read your name mentioned by..... and thus it isn't only me waiting to read.
Where have you been? What will you be doing for Valentines? How are you?

I haven't been sick so frequently in short bursts Enrique. Goes around in the nursery. Must be because they're younger and harder to get them to practice good hygiene. They aren't allowed to use alcohol gel. Then it goes around the whole school. Unlike in the primary school, I was ok there. Then my sis gets sick often from school also and have to sort out the mould spores on my corner wall. Probably doesn't help.

Thankfully I'm coping and getting by in spite of it as well as this I've had the flu jab.

I'm looking forward to getting a break, but I don't want to be away for too long, away from "hubby" coz he can't afford our expensive flights. We were planning to go as a couple, only ourselves another time when it's affordable, but mom insists I go this time which is bad timing for prices because it appears to be the high peak season. I don't live in London, so I don't get the cheap offers they get there for the Philippines. I can only go coz mom wants to pay.

Oh don't need to tell me that Enrique. I love photos and my mom is a camera freak....mental.

Lucky for me I'm not allergic to any food as far I know. It would break my heart to have to stop myself from eating foods that I love. First time there. Nobody else in our group likes seafood that much, except for Bessie. The closest thing before was sushi bars.

Theta I wasn't sick coz of the petticoat. I haven't got one at least not a red one. Only corset and suspenders.

I sold my boots unfortunately because they were wearing out and I wanted to buy new ones. I normally sell my stuff to minimise what I own and fund any new stuff that I plan to buy. I'd like to have new brown or black knee high boots and ankle boots and new trainers/rubber shoes.

I can't promise to have no relapse sadly Theta. Just pray for us all to stay well. Thanks for the thought and God bless you. Tc too.

No worries Tetchie. I like to read anyone's personal message. It's very heartwarming. Thanks very much.

Yes videos please.

Happy Valentines day. Don't forget your red petticoat. Unfortunately I'd an itchy throat then now it has traveled to my chest. I prefer runny nose.

Joseph no worries. It is nothing really. Just a joke between friends.

The first joke implies that behind every man's success is a woman. She's the mastermind. And the little note about the image is about empowering women and show no fear to take care of matters of their own heart and don't always leave it to other people.

hi Janey ..love the joke above but to me it is not a joke but a reality. i remember when i was crying for hours when i was telling "someone" that my boss used to be just like me and is now a big time. i was crying so hard because i told that someone that i am a failure with him. for almost five (5) years that we've been together (friends, lovers, enemies, etc) i was the one beside him. he was always "one of them" at the top. i just dont know what's wrong with him, it always ended, months after or one or two years after. one thing i thought of was ... it's because "it's not always "me" beside him".

ei, it would be great to see you in person just pm me okay?

you take care always

wooo Malu great to see you.

Gosh I didn't expect anyone to relate to the joke. It's eerie when art imitates life.

awww Malu it's quite unfair how much easier it is for a guy to make it to the top while you could be just as good or better at doing his job. But I guess there's a reason for everything including the heartaches we must feel and get over.

I'll let you know of course when I get there. Take good care of yourself and cry no more hopefully.
