If you ask me, coffee is extremely popular here. I think we have some people here who nearly live off the stuff.

Janey,

Happy Mother's day to your mom. Anyways, here in cali everyone just about eats everything. There's the mexican foods, KFC, Chinese food, Japanese, Indian, and Korean. So very diverse. Everyone is practically exposed to all the delicacies of the world. I love all the foods except for the exotic ones like snakes or pets.LOL Just kidding. But, i've heard how they eat snakes of the heart still beating and other weird stuff. Ok, don't wanna hurl now. Ooosp, sorry.

Have a beautiful day and lotsalove always!!!

[I God is pure love...

The presence of a coffee pot is typically shown in American movies. Movie characters who work in the police force such as detectives are often refilling their coffee cups.

The only few Mexican foods that I've had are the Europeanized version of burritos and chilli con carne.

During a visit in the U.S., we paid for my friend's mom's lunch. Later in the week my friend living there took me, my bf and her mom to a Korean, Japanese and Chinese fusion buffet. It was our first time to try these foods together. The highlight was that she paid for it all without telling us first. She paid it already when I disappeared to the toilet. We insisted that we paid for it, but she wouldn't let us. We were left with the embarrassing dilemma of hoping to return favour on our next visit there or when she visits us here in the U.K. So far we sent her family a small amount of money through the mail.

I'd try many things once, but I wouldn't try what you mentioned Ate T with the snake's heart still beating.

Happy Mother's day to you Ate T. I gave my mom her compost soil already as asked during Easter because this is when Mother's day is celebrated here.

You made all of the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. ~ Psalm 139: 13

A previous post for our dear mother:

Thank you mom for your faith in God who has protected us from every kind of harm.

Sorry that I don't meet your higher expectations.
We are alike but we are not same person.
You lived a different generation.
Very sorry that we've to argue sometimes.
You know we've never fallen out for any longer than
a day, otherwise we'll get no sleep.
I haven't got the stamina nor the strength to argue with anyone for long like you can.
Sorry for having scared you sometimes
particularly during the times I got lost wandering around as a kid.
You're one of the people whose genuine goodness outweighs your flaws.
You've put many people's needs first before yours.
You represent the true nature of clean, virtuous and healthy living.
Many think you're much younger than you really are.
Even when you're feeling old, you still look pretty and mistaken to be my sister.

Thank you for explaining clearly to others what I choose not to say.
Thank you mom for doing everything that you possibly
could with your mighty big heart.

God bless your beautiful motherly
soul for many more years to come.

Janie,

I am living in the borders of Mexico and US. The dominant Mexican diet of tortilla, carne asado, tacos, guacamole (avocado puree), biria ( beef stock), chilli relleno, burritos ( beans wrapped with fresh tortilla), elotes (corn) with all the chillis in the world are very popular. Coffee, sodas, pizzas and chips are pretty appealing specially with younger people.

People here are irksome with the smell of fish and they detest veggies too.

This diet is really my big agony.

Anyway, these foods are always seasoned with lots and lots of fresh onions, clantro, lemon and tomatoes.

I do not know for whatever reason but I cannot eat fresh tomatoes and onions. Pizza (specially Little Ceasar) freaks me out too.

Thanks very much for your contributions Ate Jesty.
I'm glad to see that it isn't just here that people are fussy to eat fish and veggies.

mmmm my mom cooks up a really nice fish relleno. She cuts the fish and takes the fish meat out, cooks it up with vegetables and spices. She sews up the fish after she's put the meat, veggies and spices stuffing back inside the fish skin then fries the whole fish to make the skin crispier. I think it's rather skilful of her to sew it all back together again.

I love to hear about your odyssey. Good to see you've dared to leap a long way from home. Stay safe and enjoy your journeys.
God bless you dearest.

Ms. Blue. Chippy chips.

Don't the Irish just love their potatoes?
Patatas alias spuds grow so well in this cold part of the world.
Just watch out for the green bits of potatoes though, not good to eat.

Have you ever heard of a silly remark about Merry in The Lord of the Rings movie saying something like potatowned?
