THE MIRROR... The Mirror The mirror gives a glimpse into our soul, Others views are tainted with untruths, No one sees us as we see our self, The truth is really known by only you. We see inside the mirror, who we are, Looking past the many fronts displayed, In there we must admit who's looking back, In there our light never rests in shade. Do any have all their scars un-hid, Who never paints a smile above a frown, Who always speaks what ere is on the mind, Never dress their words for pleasant sounds. Standing naked before the mirror all regress, Disdain reflections of the mortal shell, Hid inside the flesh lives their contempt, The truth about the thoughts of their own self. We try to move with every glance controlled, To shape the thoughts that others might perceive, Afraid that who we are is not enough, Being accepted is our over riding need. We paint a little in hopes we hide a lot, Then sell our selves to any, who would look, It justifies our feelings of self worth. No ones life is fully and open book.
